When you cancel a flight ticket, the ixigo money you earned for that transaction will get deducted from your ixigo money account balance. In case your account balance is zero at that time, the balance will become negative. The ixigo money you earn on your next booking(s) will be used to adjust the negative balance.
Your cancellation refund will be transferred to your ixigo money account and bank/wallet, etc. The refund break up will depend on the amount of ixigo money used at the time of making your booking. The amount, up to that paid with your ixigo money balance, will be refunded to you as ixigo money, the rest, if any will be transferred to your bank/wallet, etc.
For instance> You booked a flight ticket for Rs.4000 and paid Rs.2000 via ixigo money and Rs.2000 with your debit card. The refund is Rs.2500. You will receive Rs.2000 as ixigo money and Rs.500 will be transferred to your bank account. However, if the refund is Rs.1500, you will receive the entire amount as ixigo money.
Validity of the ixigo money that you get as refund will be as per the original booking date (on which it was earned). For instance, if you booked on 1st April and got ixigo money with 60 days validity, and you redeemed it on a future booking and then cancelled your ticket on 15th May, then the refunded ixigo money that you received will have a validity of 15 days. In case you cancelled your ticket on 15th June, then the refunded ixigo money that you received will have a validity of 7 days.
Please note: If you avail instant discount on your booking, you will not receive the instant discount amount as refund, in the event of cancellation. For instance, if you booked a Rs.3000 flight for Rs.2500, after using a Rs.500 instant discount code, then your applicable refund amount will be Rs.2500 (any cancellation charges will be adjusted from this amount).
